I was studying the scriptures and my Patriarchal Blessing the other day, when my mind started thinking again about positivity and loving what I'm doing. I've always known that the mind is powerful..simply setting your mind to do something will determine if it is done or not!
So this week, I set a goal. LOVE everything. Enjoy life. Set my heart to the things I do. Make it fun. etc...
And you know what? It actually works..
Once again, the mind wins!
School was overpowering my will and motivation. I was going through the motions, ready for it to end. I was dreading going to school, doing assignments, finishing homework, ... (let's be clear I still don't want that stuff...) ;) but telling myself that I love learning, that this will help me in the future, changed my whole perspective. My long day at school wasn't as long as it normally is. I found time to attend all my meetings and activities I had planned, along with completing necessary homework. I enjoyed our family vacation to Knott's Berry Farm and spending time with my family.
It was kinda like the MTC all over again... (yes... here's the mission relation!) When you're happy to learn and grow, SO MUCH can be accomplished! I wanted to learn, I didn't procrastinate as much, I set my priorities, I was motivated.
All because I told myself I could. And did.
So, set your heart to the things you do! If you don't want to love it, you should change your mind or change the thing. Life becomes so much easier when we decide to do it joyfully :)

(PS 2 years ago TODAY, I received my mission call! How special the day... and how weird to me that it's been 2 years... so much happened in those 2 years, so many great things. 2 years ago today, was the start of a great adventure) VIVA CHILE! :D
