especially for youth

Last week (june 28-july 3) I was at efy at ASU. I roomed with Bryndee Derrick, and oh boy we had so much fun! We met a lot of new people, and its cool because most of them live in Arizona, so we could totally see them again! It was a really small session: only 6 companies, 3 younger age group, and 3 older.
Monday:
We first got there, and guess what? they ran out of handbooks and DVDs, and only had XL shirts. And incase that needs clarification, me and Bryndee are NOT XL girls :) We met our company, found out 3 other girls from our stake were in our company too (Dani Reed, Joselyn Hardy, and Emi Christensen). That was pretty neat. Our company scripture was D&C 64:9-11, so we had to come up with a name from that scripture. I wanted "one another, forgive your brother" but the counselors (Natalie, Rob, and Tori) said it was too long. Someone else wanted "The greater sin" but it was too negative. Finally, "Forgive all men" was our name :) We played games with our company for FHE and got to know everyone a little better.
Tuesday:
This was our first full day. We had classes, lunch, classes, freetime, and the dance. WHICH WAS SO FUN! I was excited because I learned the hoedown throwdown by miley cyrus at girls camp the week before, and they played it there! That dance is so fun! ANYway, the classes were really super good. Bro Dunn and Bro Wilcox were the teachers, and they are so amazing! I learned so much from them!!
Wednesday:
We had more classes, lunch, classes, freetime, and games night. Once again, the classes were a lot of fun! During freetime, we went in the games room at the institute building, played a little pingpong, then talked to people in our company. The games night was AMAZING. We made up a cheer (a stomp thing and a clap/rap thing both learned from girls camp) and got first. our banner got third. out of three :) but its okay! we had fun! the games were all really fun too! I got to meet a few more people in my company a little better, so that was good :)
Also today, more handbooks and DVDs came in, but they ran out again, so we still didn't get one :)
Thursday:
Thursday at efy is always spiritual day. It seems like it wouldn't be all that fun, but it was really my favorite day! In the morning we had YW/YM classes, then after lunch we had the variety show, freetime, and testimony meeting. The classes were once again great! The variety show was SO COOL, so many people have such legit talents! Free time was the best yet! First of all, it was Emi Christensen's 16th birthday, so her mom brought us all cinnamon rolls :) We played "around the world" on the pingpong table in the institute building. It was funny because we didn't have many paddles, so people used cell phones, shoes, hands, and the triangle thing from the pool table. :) After, we played "a what?" hahahaha, and that was FUN. Kinda confusing, but FUN. We also took so many fun pictures. We kept making jokes about it for the rest of the night! Well, until testimony meeting of course. The spirit was SO strong during testimony meeting. The only bad thing was it was really short. I was just glad I was able to go up, I would have been angry with myself if I didn't.
Friday:
The last day :( We had "for the strength of youth" activities, a service project, freetime, another dance, and a slideshow/taking it home activity. The classes were good, counselors taught them :) Right after this, we FINALLY got our handbooks and DVDs! :D YAY! I was so excited to finally have it, even though it was the last day and I don't really need it much anymore. I am going to go through my notebook and transfer all the notes I took into the handbook. :) For the service project, we tied knots on the end of blankets, and it was a lot of fun! Hahaha :) right after the service project, and before free time, the boys in my group brought my counselor Rob a cake because his birthday was saturday, AND all the girls roses!! It was so sweet!! During freetime, we were supposed to go pack up all our stuff. yuck. We went for a few minutes, then went and played games again. This time, we played around the world on the air hockey table :) THAT was fun! Then it was dinner/picture time with our company. We took so many pictures, we were 20 minutes late for the dance! The dance I think should have been longer, but oh well. After the dance, we got with our companies and sang the efy medly! I LOVE THAT SONG! It is So pretty! After we went to bed, we made thank-you things for the guys in our group. We wrote their name on it, wrote "we are bursting with love for you guys" and taped starbursts on them :) they turned out cute!
Saturday:
We had to go home. Sad day. We told our whole company to meet outside at 6 so we could say one last goodbye. all the girls got there at like 6:20, and the guys didn't show until after 7. We only got to see a few of them because we had to leave. :(

I already miss efy so much! I've listened to the CD over and over and over and over! I had such a great time, I don't want to lose the feeling I had there. We are already planning on when we can have a company reunion, everyone wants to get back together! I have been wanting to go to Nauvoo or Palmyra for efy for the LONGEST time, but I actually really liked asu, so I need to decide where I want to go next year. :D
