Duck Creek

My family went camping this week with the Derricks and Woods in my ward. We went up to Duck Creek (in utah) which is about an hour from Zions National Park and Bryce Canyon.
We left Wednesday around 11:30ish, expecting an 8 hour drive. After a flat tire on our camper trailor (and a flat spare too) and having to drive an hour to Page and back, the drive turned to like 12 hours. Luckily for us, the walmart tire shop which had been closed for the night still let us buy some new tires. We finally pulled into camp around 12:30 am (AZ time, so 1:30am UT time)
Thursday, we drove to Bryce Canyon, and saw some really cool mountains. We went back, and I took a long nap because I was so tired!! Later that night, we went on a hike to a waterfall, but the trail was closed, so we could only hear (not see) this waterfall. Either way, it was fun!!
Friday we drove over to Zions National Park. We went on a really intense hike to these Emerald Ponds and they were so cool!! We had to hike up and down, over huge rocks, on a very windy trail, but oh was it worth it!! It was the coolest thing ever!! After we finished the hike, my dad told us he recorded it on his phone, from the ponds to the end, 1.18 miles. That's IT. It sure seemed like a lot longer than that!! We went back to camp, then after a while, decided to rent some canoes at the lake that was down the road. They were all rented out for the day, so we played in the lake for a while. Well, I didn't, because I was super tired. We went back to camp, cooked hotdogs on the fire, ate my dad's famous french fries, made smores, and talked about funny pick-up lines. We got mostly all packed up so we could leave early the next morning.
This morning, we got up, finished packing, and was out of camp by 6--and also before anyone else was awake! :) We got home great (no flats this time) and had a relaxing afternoon.
This trip was SO MUCH FUN!! I was expecting a camp where we relax, play cards, and chill all day, but nope! We had lots of hiking fun! I was also excited to driv
e about 2 of the hours on the ride there and home. I really had a great time on this camping trip, and would FOR SURE do it again sometime!!!! :D
