Overcome

Challenge 2: What has been the biggest trial in your life so far? How did you overcome it and what did you lean?

I vaguely talked about this yesterday, but I'd have to say my biggest trial was when my mom passed away. It was SO hard for me and I had to really focus on going on with life and not letting it pass me by.
What helped me overcome this trial was my faith and my family. The church teachings led me to gain a testimony of the Plan of Salvation. I had to trust in it and find out for myself that I believed and knew it. Friends in the church were a huge help too. So many people were willing to help serve my family: dinner, cleaning, babysitting, activities, etc. I felt so much love from everyone at this time.
My family all strengthened and bonded together to overcome this. Together we put a smile on our faces, kept going on with what we had known before, and optimistically looked forward to what the future would bring us. I have found that it's the only way to get through a hard time: endure it.

What Life Has Taught Me:
Giving up is not an option. The only way to better yourself is to learn the lesson from the trial, apply it to life, and strive to be even better the next day. Staying devoted to the gospel makes life so much easier, and everything pieces together. Keep moving forward.
