Veterans

Today is Veterans Day, and very appropriately, I am thankful for veterans.
It takes a lot of bravery, courage, and strength to fight a war. I appreciate all those who have ever served for our country. They are amazing people, and they deserve more recognition than they get. They should NOT be blamed for what happens while they're off fighting. They fight for a good cause: our freedom.
Yesterday in seminary, we talked about this. We related it to the Book of Mormon story with Moroni. The Lamanites had double the amount of soldiers as the Nephites, and they were better fighters than they had ever been. Basically, the Nephites had no chance of winning the war, but did. All because they were fighting for the right reasons. The land we live on is the Promised Land, and it's only rewarding when we are righteous. Only when righteousness is here, can we win the war. In a way, we are fighting just as hard a war as those soldiers who are overseas, away from their families. We need to be strong and courageous to stand up for truth and righteous and win this war against Satan. Only God can help win the war, we cannot do it without him. So why not allow his help? After this discussion in seminary, I decided that I am going to do better to share the gospel, be an example and a light to others, and stand for what's right.
Besides, if I am not willing to take action, I cannot expect others to either.
