Speech

So I joined this club at work, called Toastmasters. It's a speech giving club, where the other club members observe you and help you be able to speak better in public.
ANYway.. last night I gave my first speech. It was an ice breaker about anything related to myself..so it wasn't hard necessarily.
If you put me behind a podium, or give me a speech to read/kinda half-memorize, I'll do fine, like speaking in church! I don't really mind! BUT, it's when I have to have it memorized for the most part, or a few notecards, that freaks me out. Luckily, I had work off yesterday, so I spent the majority of the evening (and car drive over there) going over the speech..over and over and over... until I had it down! WHICH, I never did.. ha ;) oh well. The speech still turned out alright, hey, it was my first one. I'll get better! Especially because I'm also signed up for a Public Speaking course next semester... ha.
