We first went to Tessa's friends house, where about 20-25 kids from random schools (mostly Highland where Tessa goes) came. We first played some "get to know you" games, like "Chicken in the Hen House" or whatever it's called. Bentley and I were going to be partners, but they said to choose people you don't know... This other guy picked Bentley, so a kid in my ward, Jacob, was my partner instead. We definitely got 2nd ;)
We went back inside and started a service project. Tessa's friends mom goes to Ethiopia every year to help out there. Oh how I wish I could do that!! Anyway, we made little "friendship bracelets" for the lil Ethiopian kids ;) How fun that was! :D
Next was the talent show. Jessica and Jacob in my ward swing danced. One kid flipped off the wall. Some girls played the ukulele. And a few guys sang/played guitar. It makes me want to learn to play my ukulele SO BAD! And eventually guitar too!
Next, we hopped in vehicles to go to the temple. We ate in the temple cafeteria--the temple has YUMMY food! Then did baptisms for the dead. It was great ;)
We went outside and had "solo time" then went to Tessa's grandma who lives close to the temple. We had a devotional and testimony meeting. Then went inside and drank chocolate milk. yeah, random.
It was so great to get a bunch of friends together and have a spiritual day. I am SO thankful Tessa and her friends put this all together. It was AMAZING! Such a wonderful idea. I love getting a big group of good kids together do to good things ;) I want to hold one sometime with all of my friends ;)
Oh, and PS. Another great thing, was I got to see my friend Ashlynn!! :D I haven't seen this girl in years!! She knows Tessa from school, and it was great to see her again ;) Her mom and my mom have been friends since they were like 3, so we've known each other forever ;)
